About the Role:

Access Talent Group is seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to join our client's growing Highways Maintenance team. As a key member of the team, you will support senior engineers in designing and delivering highway and/or structures schemes from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Propose scheme options, prepare designs, and implement solutions in accordance with national and local design standards and policies.
  2. Project Management: Establish agreed solutions with stakeholders, manage external consultants, and ensure project targets are achieved.
  3. Financial Control: Prepare estimates, monitor project costs, and ensure completion within agreed budgets.
  4. Scheme Implementation: Prepare, tender, and assess contract documentation to ensure construction of works is completed on time and within budget.
  5. Communication: Represent the team at meetings, conduct consultations, and advise members as necessary.
  6. Training and Development: Maintain personal technical expertise and encourage assistant engineers to pursue personal development.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience.
  2. Ability to carry out engineering projects with values up to £500,000 without continual direction.
  3. Good level of technical expertise.
  4. Ability to consistently deliver projects to programme and budget.
  5. Good experience of contract documentation preparation.
  6. Good communication and reporting skills.
  7. Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Offer engineering advice and mentor assistant engineers as required.
  9. Good commercial awareness.
  10. Deputise for the Senior Engineer in their absence.

Salary and Benefits:

£40,000 to £50,000 Per Annum
