About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing an excellent meal service to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment to prepare and serve high-quality meals to our patients and staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of food, including food handling, cooking, and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are met, adhering to strict guidelines and regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and production targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our patients, staff, and visitors, responding to their needs and preferences.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in food preparation and service.

Person Specification

  • No formal qualifications are required, as an induction period and on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Previous experience in catering or food preparation is not essential, but a willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines.
