Nurse Specialist

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated nurses to join our Special Care Baby Unit team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a band 5 nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to infants from 30+ weeks gestation.
Our unit is a 12-bedded facility that operates on a rotational basis, incorporating days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. We prioritize staff development and offer opportunities for training and courses relevant to your role.
We are looking for registered children's nurses, registered general nurses, and registered midwives who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. A neonatal qualification and experience are advantageous, but we also welcome newly qualified nurses or those seeking a career change.

Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care using a family-focused model of practice.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and maintain clinical competence at band 5.
- Stay up-to-date with current professional nursing issues and best practices.
- Contribute to health promotion initiatives.
- First-level live NMC registration as a nurse.
- Evidence of qualification to supervise, teach, and assess students (essential for this role).
- PP126/7 and D32/33 qualifications.
This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check to verify any previous criminal convictions.
Contract DetailsPermanent contract with variable hours available.
Salary and Benefits£29,970 to £36,483 per annum, pro rata.
