Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at Setsquare Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our highway maintenance projects, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure accurate cost reporting, providing timely and actionable insights to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including reviewing and approving invoices, and negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
  • Provide financial advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and legal requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector, with a strong understanding of construction contracts and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.
