We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Lead Nurse to join our team at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and managing all areas within the department, demonstrating professionalism, clinical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

About the Role
  • This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work clinically, including unsocial hours, and will be required to independently take charge of the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in the care of patients receiving emergency or clinically urgent treatment in the department.
  2. As a Senior Nurse, you will be required to support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needs of our patients are met through the delivery of high-quality care.
  3. You will be working as part of a large multidisciplinary team, including the ED medical team, clinical practice educators, safeguarding, mental health liaison team, and clinical specialties.
Requirements
  • A Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register
  • Teaching and assessing course (i.e., Mentorship or equivalent)
  • ILS
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in an acute setting
  • Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in area supplemented by specialist clinical and/or managerial training and CPD
  • Can demonstrate understanding/experience/willingness to be a practice-based supervisor/assessor as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
