Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Financial Planning and Strategy to join our team at the University of Stirling. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our university's financial ambition and driving income growth.

About the Role
The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, providing strategic direction and guidance on financial planning and strategy. You will work closely with deans, executive directors, and cross-functional teams to ensure our financial efforts align with our strategic plan and financial strategy. Your expertise will be essential in analysing performance metrics, managing risks, and ensuring the financial sustainability of our strategic developments. Additionally, you will collaborate with the head of policy and planning to refine our university's planning approach, providing financial insights to enhance various aspects of our operations. This is an open-ended full-time position, with a salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Based in the UK, this role offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to make a significant impact on our university's financial success.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to a dedicated team
• Develop a robust financial plan that steers us toward our income growth goals
• Work closely with deans, executive directors, and cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment
• Analyse performance metrics, manage risks, and ensure financial sustainability
• Collaborate with the head of policy and planning to refine our university's planning approach
• Provide financial insights to enhance various aspects of our operations

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree-level qualification or equivalent, with a relevant professional accountancy qualification. You should have strategic financial leadership experience in a large and complex organisation, as well as a demonstrable record of accomplishment in developing and implementing vision and strategy that enables growth in activity and reputation. A proven ability to influence organisational development and translate strategic goals into action is also essential. For sponsorship purposes, this role falls under SOC code 1131.
