Project Management Office Specialist

Are you a seasoned project management professional looking for a new challenge? Do you have a passion for delivering high-quality projects and programmes? We are seeking an experienced PMO Officer to join our Programme Management Office (PMO) team at Kings Lynn & West Borough Council.
About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled project management professional to develop, install, and embed project and programme management systems to establish the council's programme management framework. As a PMO Officer, you will drive continuous improvement and develop processes to monitor and ensure that agreed standards are consistently applied for programme and project management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement project and programme management systems to support the council's programme management framework
- Drive continuous improvement and develop processes to monitor and ensure that agreed standards are consistently applied
- Produce high-quality, timely, and useful information for programme boards, Executive Directors, Assistant Directors, and elected members
- Work with the PMO Manager to develop and implement project management processes and procedures
- Collaborate with senior managers and elected members to ensure that project management standards are consistently applied
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Substantial experience working in a busy office environment at a senior level, including working with senior managers and elected members
- Experience in a project-related field with a working knowledge of project management processes
- Understanding of local government procedures and the key issues facing local government
- Strong communication skills, including confident presentation of advice to colleagues and reporting writing for senior managers
- Ability to apply a logical, solution-based, and analytical approach with excellent time management and organisation skills to tight deadlines
