At Babcock International Group, we're committed to creating a safe and secure world. As a Senior Safety Expert, you'll play a critical role in supporting the operational capability of the nation's nuclear submarine fleet and the continuous nuclear deterrent.

The Role

As a Senior Safety Expert, you'll lead on the delivery of safety engineering tasks, working closely with our Submarine Support Engineering group. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe operation of our nuclear submarine fleet, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure the highest level of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety engineering strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address safety concerns

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure safe operation

• Provide expert guidance and support to junior team members on safety engineering best practices

Requirements:

• Proven experience in safety engineering, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
