As a Polymer Ink Technician at De La Rue, you will be responsible for operating the ink kitchen mixing system and owning the process for the supply and return of polymer ink to press, while managing the control of colour. This role requires adherence to standards and specifications at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the ink mixing system and colour control process, adhering to SOP's and the requirements set out in standards and specifications.
  • Responsibility for colour matching of ink in accordance to the specification.
  • Proactive management of the asset care of equipment within the ink mixing and colour control areas.
  • Assistance in proactive TPM activities throughout the process.
  • Monitoring of key consumables in line with budgeted BOM quantities in real time.
  • Carry out stocktaking in relation to the ink mixing area on a daily/monthly basis.
  • Support post operational reviews ensuring stock balances with the ERP prior to job closure.
  • Full ownership of the ink mixing process from receipt of stock to return of waste material, adhering to standard SOP's at all times.
  • Ensure all stock and waste within the ink mixing process is correctly labelled at all times.
  • Support machine set-up's and clean-downs in line with production requirements.
  • Ensure mixed ink is supplied press ready in line with production targets.
  • Be the primary contact for the mixing of polymer ink for press.
  • Provide cover for other Ink Technician Operatives during holiday, training and sickness absence.

Requirements:

Basic IT skills and good computer literacy.

Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.

Physically fit with good manual handling skills.

Attention to detail.

Knowledge of production/technical processes and procedures with respect to SQCDP.

Good organising and planning skills; controlling quality and working to standard operating procedures.

Ability to show flexibility.

Good team-working.
