Job Summary:
We're seeking an experienced SEND LSA to support a non-verbal child with autism in a welcoming school environment in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. As a SEND LSA, you'll play a vital role in providing individualized support, helping the child develop their communication skills, and engaging them in learning activities. About the Role:
You'll work closely with the class teacher to ensure the child's needs are met and provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized support to the child
- Helping the child develop their communication skills
- Engaging the child in learning activities
- Promoting the child's social, emotional, and personal development
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need previous experience working with children with autism and special educational needs. You should also have a good understanding of non-verbal communication techniques (e.g., Makaton, PECS). A proactive and flexible approach to work is essential, as well as patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with SEND.
Salary:
The salary for this role is approximately £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
