Job Title: IT Infrastructure Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our team at Interface Recruitment UK. As a key member of our Technical Information Security Officer team, you will play a crucial role in protecting our company's information assets by ensuring the security of our systems, infrastructure, and networking services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to and escalate security alerts generated by our IT security toolset, identifying and remediating IT security risks and vulnerabilities.
  2. Ensure all security platforms, policies, and procedures are effective and maintained.
  3. Collaborate with our IT Operations Team to assess security infrastructure, network, and systems.
  4. Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives.
  5. React to and initiate corrective action regarding security violations, unauthorized access attempts, virus infections, and other security events.
  6. Perform risk and impact analysis on proposed changes and projects to our security infrastructure.
  7. Monitor security system logs, including Web Application Firewall, firewall system logs, and performance issues.
  8. Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Technical Security Standards to ensure a consistent and up-to-date technically secure environment.
  9. Assist with Supplier Oversight activities by performing Technical Security related Risk Assessments as required.
  10. Provide expert technical security services for Client requirements, internal audit, external audit, and certification activities.
  11. Comprehensive understanding and experience of designing, configuring, implementing, and deploying firewalls, IDS/IPS, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, Mobile Device Management, and technologies based on IT/Cyber Security best practices.
  12. Experience in networking, troubleshooting, and analysis tools.
  13. Experience in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and patch management.
  14. Identifying, assessing, reporting, and mitigating technical security related risks within business processes, projects, systems, 3rd party, and client engagements.
  15. Either a recognized Information Security/IT qualification or working towards a relevant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISA, CISM), or commensurate experience.
  16. Secure configuration and support of outsourced services and Cloud service provision, including PaaS, SaaS, IaaS.
  17. Strong experience of the systems and associated operations relating to SIEM, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Scanning/Penetration Testing, Mobile Device Management.
  18. Working knowledge of network security, authentication mechanisms, wireless, encryption technologies, and networking protocols, including HTTP(S), DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP, UDP, and SNMP.
