Job Summary

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive workforce supply strategy for NHS England, focusing on improved recruitment, retention, and utilization of healthcare professionals. This role will involve working closely with various stakeholders to identify and address workforce challenges, and to develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a workforce supply strategy that aligns with NHS England's goals and objectives
  • Lead the development of recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain top talent
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address workforce challenges and develop solutions to meet the needs of the organization
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design and implementation of a supply improvement program
  • Work closely with other key functions, including Retention, Postgraduate Medical Education, Clinical and Innovation teams

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join NHS England's leadership team and contribute to the development of a comprehensive workforce supply strategy. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and management experience, as well as expertise in workforce development and supply chain management.

Person Specification

  • Master's degree or equivalent level of experience in a relevant field
  • Subject matter expertise in NHS resourcing and workforce supply initiatives, including recruitment and retention, medical expansion, and supply pipelines
  • Significant leadership and management experience at senior level in the NHS or other public healthcare-related industry
  • Ability to develop and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver strategic priorities
  • Values diversity and difference, operates with integrity and openness, and embraces change
