Clinical Psychologist Therapist

This is a developmental post with an introductory Band 7 Psychologist role to progress into a Band 8a Clinical Forensic Counselling Psychologist on completion of competencies.
The post is based within the Integrated Mental Health Teams in Kent Prisons, where you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality psychological services to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to clients with a range of clinical severity.
- Work with clients to address issues of diversity and promote a multicultural framework.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff to ensure high standards of clinical practice.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives to improve service delivery and outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping and report writing.
- Travel to clinical venues, training activities, and meetings as required.
- Completion of a minimum of two years full-time (or equivalent part-time) post-doctoral/post-qualification supervised experience.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with the full range of clinical severity under supervision.
- Post-qualification experience of working with and addressing issues of diversity, including experience of working within a multicultural framework.
- Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent and demonstrable practice in this field.
- Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in a specialised area of psychological practice.
- Registered with a professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the professional body.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
