Job Title: Community Nursing Team Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled nursing professional to lead our community nursing team in Brighton and Hove. As a Band 8a Matron, you will be responsible for clinically leading a multidisciplinary team that delivers high-quality care to children and families in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership: You will provide clinical guidance and support to the team, ensuring that they deliver excellent care to children and families.
  • Clinical Expertise: You will hold your own independent clinical caseload and be proficient in clinical nursing assessments and interventions for children and young people in the community.
  • Nurse Prescribing: You will have or be willing to undertake training to become a Non-Medical/Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300) who can offer clinical reviews, assessments, and prescribe appropriately for children in the community.
  • Communication and Working Relationships: You will work closely with other health professionals within the Trust and across the health economy, as well as across statutory and third sector agencies.

Requirements:

  • BSc/MSc Specialist Practice in Community Health/Specialist Practitioner Children's Community Nurse or BSc/MSc Children's Nurse Practitioner qualification.
  • Physical Assessment of Children/Young People at level 6/7 or equivalent.
  • Community Nurse prescriber (V100) or willing to undertake training.
  • Non-Medical/Independent Nurse Prescriber (V300) or willing to undertake training.
  • Extensive post registration relevant clinical children's community nursing experience at Band 6 or above.
