Senior Ecologist Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join our busy ecology department in Exeter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical advice to clients across a range of ecological consulting projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on complex ecological projects, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) reports, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) documents.
- Develop and implement effective biodiversity strategies, including Biodiversity Net Gain and protected species licensing.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their ecological needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Contribute to the development of the ecology department, including mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices.
- Degree-level qualification in Ecology or a related field.
- Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience with excellent client liaison skills.
- Advanced knowledge of ecology and wildlife protection in the UK planning system.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software and GIS packages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
