About Us

The Healthy Living Team at Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a skilled Sports Coach to join our team. As a Sports Coach, you will play a vital role in increasing physical activity levels and engaging residents in sport across various age groups.

About the Role

This is a casual, as-and-when-required position, with the opportunity to work on a range of projects, including:

  • Delivering lunchtime and after-school sports activities to young people in local schools or helping with the delivery of festivals.
  • Developing sports activities and games as part of community projects during school holidays or evenings/weekends.
  • Creating family-based sessions for early years ages.
  • Working with targeted groups, such as females and older people, on community-based projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sports Coach, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and delivering sports activities and programs for various age groups.
  • Working with local schools, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote physical activity and sport.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of sports activities and programs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in sports coaching or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
