About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Design Manager to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing the GB Corporate Building Specifications, working closely with internal stakeholders and external design consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the GB Corporate Building Specifications, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and procedures.
  • Support the tendering and negotiation of framework agreements with key national suppliers.
  • Manage ad-hoc project plans, budgets, and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Report on project progress to the senior team, providing regular updates and insights.
  • Implement quality control and operational procedures to achieve high-quality standards across all construction sites.
  • Act as a point of contact for regional construction and property teams, supporting the achievement of store construction targets.
  • Manage relationships with external companies, consultants, and conduct regular reviews of competence and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate specifications and internal procedures, including the management of a green building certification process for the store portfolio across the UK.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Design Management.
  • Strong ability to review and understand detailed design information, with an excellent eye for detail and ability to manage change.
  • PC literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Highly organized with a pragmatic and analytical approach.
  • A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • A good communicator who can communicate confidently with people at all levels of the business.
  • Sound commercial knowledge.
  • A team player who is capable of performing tasks independently using their own initiative.
  • Hold a full driving license.
