About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team at Volvo Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and technical support to our customers, ensuring that their vehicles are repaired and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic and technical support to customers, including identifying and repairing defects and minor defects
  • Specify repair solutions to facilitate the production of quotes and works orders
  • Ensure timely handover of completed jobs to the customer service representative for invoicing
  • Carry out effective shift handover, including any outstanding repair orders and customer issues
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • Significant experience of working as a technician within the Heavy Goods Vehicle industry
  • Good knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual
  • An understanding of Operators Licence Laws and Regulations
  • The application of Standard Times
  • Knowledge of workshop KPIs
  • Technical product knowledge
  • HGV Technician City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, both written and verbally
  • Ability to understand and analyze technical issues and propose appropriate solutions
