Post CCT Fellowship in Advanced Colorectal Surgery

We are offering a unique opportunity for a senior clinical fellowship in advanced colorectal surgery, fully accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

This 12-month position, with a potential 6-month extension by mutual agreement, is designed for experienced surgeons who wish to extend their sub-specialist colorectal experience and progress their careers.

You will work within the Colorectal Surgical Unit (CSU) at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where you will receive mentoring and training in professional behaviors, leadership and management principles, communication skills, computer skills, and research activity.

The strong ethos of the CSU supports career progression and application for substantive Consultant Colorectal Surgeon posts in the United Kingdom – all previous fellows have achieved this goal.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Undertake patient assessments for colorectal cancer surgery, select investigations, and participate in MDT meetings to discuss treatment plans.
  2. Select cases for local excision in early rectal cancer using TEMS/advanced endoscopy techniques.

This non-training grade post offers a chance to specialize in advanced colorectal surgery, working alongside a team of experienced professionals at the Colorectal Surgical Unit (CSU) at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
