We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Renal Service team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality psychological care to adult patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.
Working closely with our renal team, you will contribute to the provision of direct psychological interventions, staff training, and supervision. You will also have opportunities to develop innovative ways of working with patients and their families to adjust to and live well alongside the challenges of ill health.
As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting patients to adjust to their diagnosis or illness and changes in its severity.
- Assisting patients with making complex treatment choices such as which form of renal replacement therapy to choose.
- Supporting patients and their families when deciding to stop dialysis.
- Supporting staff in the management of patients with challenging behaviours on dialysis.
- Teaching and training as required.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with:
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Experience of working in a health Psychology setting.
