About the Role

Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a skilled Contracts Specialist to join our Military Aircraft Group, Wolverhampton, Contracts Team. As a key member of the team, you will report to a Contracts Team Lead and be responsible for managing contractual and administrative activities for multiple contracts/customer accounts/programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review customer purchase orders and create sales orders in the Moog ERP system, ensuring timely follow-up until sales order close out.
  • Provide formal acknowledgements and regular updates on order progress to customers, maintaining strong relationships and delivering high-quality service.
  • Review contractual terms in customer purchase orders for compliance, consistency, and risk assessment, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Produce and submit quotations to customers using the company CRM tool, coordinating with functional disciplines on lead times and prices.
  • Manage customer web-based portals for order retrieval, delivery forecast, and quotation submission, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Assist the Contracts Team Lead and/or Contracts Manager with proposal preparation and submission as needed, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Collaborate with other functional disciplines to provide quotations and updates to customers, fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Participate in and facilitate Lean/Kaizen events, driving continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Update and maintain an accurate and auditable filing and archiving system, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • More than two years of experience in a customer-focused team, customer account adviser/assistant programme manager/customer liaison, or within a contracts/commercial function.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, ideally in business management or contract law.
  • Experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP), from order creation to close out.
  • Able to be highly productive when working on their own or within a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of sales contracting, with the ability to influence and convince others.
  • Articulate and persuasive, with the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of multi-functional staff at differing levels of seniority within the organisation.
  • Ability to prioritise many different tasks and work to tight customer deadlines, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand and apply contract provisions such as warranties, remedies, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of UK and US Government conditions, DEFCONs, and FARs and DFARS.
