Medical Director Position

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) is seeking a highly qualified Medical Director to lead its team of professionals in providing high-quality care to individuals aged 65 and above with psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee facility-wide medical and geropsychiatric services
- Directly supervise a team of psychiatric and medical professionals
- Support on-call and holiday coverage as needed
- Report directly to the Facility Director/CEO
- Graduate of an approved/recognized medical school
- Completed psychiatric residency program
- Licensed to practice in the State of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Medicine
- Federally licensed to prescribe medications
- Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Prior administrative and supervisory experience
- Clinical experience in forensic psychiatry
- Dual certification in psychiatry and geriatrics
Piedmont Geriatric Hospital is a 123-bed psychiatric facility and the only facility that exclusively serves individuals over the age of 65. Our mission is to provide person-centered mental health services to enable the older adult to thrive in the community.
