Job Purpose

To successfully manage a portfolio of UK Power Network Services projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and safe delivery to exceed customer expectations. The role will be based in Chatham, Kent, but projects may be located across various UK locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure pre- and post-contract management of projects, adhering to UK Power Networks Services governance and control processes.
  • Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from initial enquiry to post-investment appraisal, in line with project processes.
  • Accurately forecast and report on project milestones, interfacing with clients, UKPN Services teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Effectively manage workload, taking full responsibility and ownership of project success and quality.
  • Contract management in line with bespoke contracts, with knowledge of NEC3 or equivalent desirable.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Production of regular reports for review and meetings.
  • Liaison with UKPN Services teams to ensure consistent project delivery strategies.
  • Financial control of projects, ensuring timely delivery and profit margins.
  • Design and construction compliance with CDM regulation and quality standards.
  • Management of NRSWA / street works contractors.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Understanding of NRSWA / Street Works.
  • Electrical Engineering (HNC or similar) or strong record of accomplishment in electrical distribution infrastructure construction.
  • PRINCE2 or APM (PMQ) certification.
  • Microsoft Office package proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Primavera planning package experience.
  • Previous experience on TFL or Network Rail projects.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in construction.
  • IOSH Putting People to Work.

  • Ability to work as a team player in a dedicated project management team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to challenge and be different rather than accepting the status quo.
