Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our small, highly trained clinical team at the North Middlesex University Hospital gynaecology and Women's ambulatory day unit/Early pregnancy unit.

Main Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Assess patient care needs and implement programmes of patient care, particularly in the development of day care hyperemesis treatment.
  • Carry out all relevant forms of care to designated patients and supervise learner nurses and Health Care Support Workers.
  • Care and control of medication and controlled drugs used for patient care, adhering to safe administration systems.
  • Ensure work is in line with Trust/unit and ward policies to maintain professional, clinical, and patient safety.
Service Management

Participate in regular professional meetings, contribute to the development and review of departmental policies, procedures, standards, and practices in accordance with Health Board policies and Cervical Screening England.

Communication

Participate in team building and communication to develop a cohesive, supportive, and effective team, contributing to an atmosphere conducive to good relations with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

Information Processing

Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with Health Board and NMC guidelines for record keeping, participating in departmental audit and demonstrating awareness and application of research findings to deliver evidence-based care.Person Specification

  • Essential Criteria: Good written and verbal communication skills, able to work on own initiative and as a team member, 2 years post-registration experience in a ward setting.
  • Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in Gynae/Women's health.
