National Account Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Account Manager to join a leading manufacturer based in Manchester. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing new and expanding existing business relationships in the grocery/discount sector. Key responsibilities include developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets, establishing brand visibility, and promoting products on a national scale. The ideal candidate will have established relationships and experience in the retail sector, with a strong understanding of the Homeware, Furniture & Home Decor market.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing retail accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within the grocery/discount retail sector and onboard new accounts by presenting the product portfolio, value propositions, and differentiation in the market.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with overall company objectives, defining sales targets, promotional strategies, and collaborative initiatives to enhance market presence and revenue.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and promotional programs to ensure profitable and sustainable partnerships.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align on product launches, marketing campaigns, and inventory management.
- Market Insights: Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences within the Homeware, Furniture & Home Decor space.
- Sales Analysis and Reporting: Monitor sales performance, track progress against targets, and generate regular reports for internal stakeholders.
- Travel: Engage in frequent travel to meet with key accounts, attend industry trade shows, and participate in relevant events to enhance brand visibility and foster relationships.
We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager with established relationships and experience in the retail sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Homeware, Furniture & Home Decor market and be able to develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets. Experience with accounts such as Next, Argos, Very, Dunelm, etc. is highly desirable. The role will be based in Manchester, so the ability to commute/attend the office is required.
