Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at The Wilmslow Hospital. As a key member of our Outpatients Department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet patients, visitors, consultants, and staff in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Assist with patient care requirements under the supervision of a registered nurse, assessing patients' conditions through basic measurements.
- Maintain stock control and careful use of equipment.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy are maintained at all times, specific to patients' needs.
- Chaperone patients and required equipment as necessary for appointments and clinics.
- Ensure strict confidentiality is applied to all clients and staff, adhering to a need-to-know basis.
- Communicate care to patients, their family, and/or carers using appropriate language and rationale.
- Assist in theatre and Recovery and other ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Under direction, develop skills in the instruction, advice, and care of patients throughout their treatment process.
- Assist the registered nurse with appropriate clinical documentation.
- Carry out other duties as instructed by your line manager.
- Report any concerns to the trained nurse in charge of the patient.
- Decontaminate instruments and clinical equipment.
- Phlebotomy is essential for this role.
- IT literacy is required.
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital setting is essential.
- NVQ in Health and Social Care is essential.
- Right to work in the UK.
