Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Crossways Recruitment. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the transportation of goods and materials across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery and collection of stock
  • Utilize route planning software to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Transport Manager, Stock Manager, Drivers, and logistic staff to oversee planning and forecasting of deliveries, delivery issues or delays, re-routing loads to get to destination within timescales, and considering the return of goods back to relevant depot
  • Collaborate with the UK hubs to ensure seamless delivery and collection of stock
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to meet their demands for timely delivery and minimize delays
  • Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize logistics operations
  • Stay up-to-date with transportation regulations and compliance to ensure adherence to industry standards

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in a similar role or industry, such as Route Planner, Transport Planner, Logistics Planner, Route Coordinator, Engineer Coordinator, logistics, transport, Freight Forwarder, Removals, or similar
  • Proficiency in route planning software and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
