This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ministry of Defence as a Strategic Planning Centre Lead, playing a critical role in driving business change and delivering excellence in Defence estate management. The successful candidate will lead a small team to provide strategic advice and support to senior stakeholders across Defence, ensuring effective interfaces between Defence Infrastructure and Corporate strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Strategic Planning Centre Lead will be responsible for:
- Leading the development of the Strategic Advice Planning Centre, ensuring it operates effectively and efficiently to deliver high-quality advice to Defence stakeholders.
- Designing and implementing the Strategic Planning Function, working closely with DIO business areas to deliver an agile and effective route to implementation.
- Developing and maintaining governance mechanisms for DIO's Strategic Advice, ensuring robust and understood interfaces between the SPF and those who provide and enable advice.
- Ensuring the demand signal for Strategic Advice is visible across DIO and linked to Corporate Strategy, workforce and capability planning activity.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in leading teams and achieving delivery through others, as well as through the team.
- Understanding of the DIO and Infrastructure Operating Models.
- Wider knowledge of the role of Defence and the operation of the MOD as a Department of State.
- Ability to deal with new concepts within the existing operating model.
- Ability to proactively identify problems and challenges that could prevent successful outcomes.
