Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation: Generate precise and competitive cost estimates, factoring in materials, labor, and overheads.
  2. Bid Management: Work with the bid management team to craft proposals that win contracts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  3. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Forge and nurture relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure the best prices and terms.
  4. Risk Analysis: Perform comprehensive risk assessments for projects, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
  5. Value Engineering: Contribute to project efficiency through value engineering, balancing cost-savings with quality.
  6. Documentation: Keep meticulous records of estimating processes, creating scope documents from client discussions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, particularly in fit-out and refurbishment.
  2. Proficiency in estimating software (Excel & MS) and a strong grasp of construction materials, methods, and best practices.
  3. Analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and negotiation capabilities.
  4. A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is advantageous.
  5. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations is essential.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the interiors sector, with expertise in trades such as joinery, drylining, suspended ceilings, and general building, including some M&E knowledge. Progression to a Project Manager role should be a career goal. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, excellent communication skills for client and subcontractor interactions, and strong problem-solving abilities are key.
