Principal Category Manager Digital

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join our Digital & IT category team as a Principal Category Manager. This role will involve leading a small team and taking ownership of the delivery of three Digital & IT category frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing strategic sourcing programs and strategies across our client base.
  • Leading and developing a small team of Category Managers and Buyers.
  • Reviewing and negotiating draft contracts for the category area.
  • Pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects.
  • Analysing data to identify areas of cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Supporting the Senior Category Manager with the management of key areas of improvement.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working within IT markets and knowledge of their supply chains.
  • Experience of working within a UK public sector procurement setting and working experience of UK Public Contracts Regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office and E-Procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba.
  • CIPS Level 5 Diploma in Procurement and Supply Operations or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Leading a team/line management experience.
  • Contract management experience.
Desirable:
  • Experience and/or knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of working within the NHS.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Salford, with a salary of up to £50,000 and a range of benefits including a car allowance, annual leave, private medical, life assurance, pension, and flexible benefits fund.
