Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Conneely Group, based in London Surrounding Areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with site supervisors, project/contract managers, operatives, surveyors, payroll, and other head office staff.
  • Plan and organize work efficiently, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Reconcile tender to works and identify additional works, ensuring accurate cost estimation.
  • Liaise with Site Management to produce regular reporting, including monthly and fortnightly updates.
  • Accurately estimate and evaluate price work of operatives, making informed decisions on rate of pay, additional rates, and price variations.
  • Operate the fortnightly wage process for assigned jobs.
  • Identify additional works carried out not included within the sub-contract, and submit variation costs to clients.
  • Quantify and value materials on site, and value prelims.
  • Assist with projected final accounts and costs, and reporting on cash flow.
Requirements:
  • Excellent time-keeping and working to deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to contribute to team meetings.
  • Able to build relationships with site operatives and negotiate sub-contractor pay.
  • Effective personal organizational skills and ability to adjust personal style to suit varying situations.
  • Literacy and advanced numeracy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Commercial approach to work and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work with people from different professional and trade backgrounds.
