Salary:$110,000 - $140,000 per year (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
This position involves leading the development of advanced digital systems as a Senior FPGA and Firmware Development Lead at Leonardo SpA. You will work with experts using world-class facilities to deliver firmware that meets future customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:
  • Using model-driven engineering techniques to generate code with Matlab and Simulink tools.
  • Deriving detailed FPGA/Firmware requirements and architecture from system requirements.
  • Implementing a structured approach to FPGA/firmware design, following guidelines such as RTCA DO-254.
  • Applying cryptography and anti-tamper techniques to ensure system security.
  • Integrating artificial intelligence, including machine learning and genetic algorithms, into digital systems.
  • Conducting electronics testing methods and equipment evaluation.
  • Collaborating effectively in mixed-discipline teams.
  • Providing excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Games Programming, Physics, or Applied Physics, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of UK residency and the ability to achieve full SC security clearance.
  • Prior experience within the defence industry is advantageous but not essential.
