Industrial Placement Opportunity in Firmware Engineering

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated students to join our team as part of a 12-month Industrial Placement programme. This placement will provide you with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real-world projects while working alongside talented engineers.

The Opportunity

This Industrial Placement programme is designed for students partway through their degree. You will have the chance to develop your knowledge and skills by working on innovative projects that contribute to our business and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop firmware solutions using VHDL/Verilog for FPGA-based systems to support complex signal processing and communications functions.
  • Work on the integration of firmware designs with mixed-signal systems in collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Test and validate designs in the lab to ensure high performance in harsh operational environments.
  • Gain experience with industry-standard tools and methodologies while learning from experienced professionals.
  • Contribute to technical reviews, which may include travel within the UK or abroad.

Requirements

  • You should be studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science, with an interest in firmware/FPGA design.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
