About the Role

As a Personal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering essential care to patients in their own homes or healthcare settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires candidates with prior experience in tracheostomy care and a deep understanding of the unique needs associated with long-term complex care.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in Complex Care Settings: Previous experience in caring for tracheostomy patients, including managing tracheostomy tubes and emergency protocols.
  • Tracheostomy Tube Management: Competent in suctioning, cleaning, and emergency procedures related to tracheostomy tube care.
  • Respiratory Support Equipment: Experience with ventilators and other respiratory support equipment is highly desirable.
  • Care Planning and Coordination: Ability to manage medications and deliver basic nursing duties as directed by registered nurses.
  • Communication and Crisis Management: Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly during emergencies.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care: Valid qualification or willingness to complete one.
  • Care Certificate: Valid certificate or willingness to undergo training.
  • Right to Work in the UK: Mandatory requirement for this position.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: Valid check or willingness to undergo one.
