Job Summary

This Community Development Volunteer role involves working with participants to support them in improving their lives and reducing their risk of reoffending. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide one-to-one support to participants, helping them to address issues such as housing, employment, and education.
  • To work closely with participants to develop personalized support plans, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • To provide practical and emotional support to participants, including assistance with accessing resources and services.
  • To maintain accurate records of participant progress and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Ability to listen effectively and communicate confidently with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.
  • A strong understanding of the issues facing communities and the importance of providing supportive and non-judgmental services.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the service.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to use software applications relevant to the role.
