Public Affairs Strategist

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Public Affairs Manager to join our Public Affairs Team. This exciting opportunity will enable you to support the public affairs team in solidifying Centrica's reputation as a Responsible Energy supplier and trusted market leader.
The successful candidate will devise and deliver engagement campaigns that showcase Centrica's investment in long-term energy security and resilience, while maintaining focus on sustainability goals. Very occasional travel to Windsor or London may be required.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor political events and parliamentary business, providing timely updates to colleagues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with MPs, advisors, and other political stakeholders through regular face-to-face engagement, email, and phone communications.
- Analyse casework trends from MPs and their teams, identifying key issues and areas for improvement.
- Support local engagement programmes, including VIP visits to Centrica operational sites and assets, which may involve regular travel.
- Collaborate with corporate affairs colleagues to create compelling campaigns, content, and messaging highlighting Centrica's contribution to the green transition and societal impact.
- Provide strategic briefings and intelligence to senior colleagues on Government policy.
- Represent the business at external meetings, including Parliament and MP energy advice events (may require some travel).
- Offer support to colleagues across Corporate Affairs where needed.
- Experience within a political environment, such as civil service, Parliament, or an agency.
- Demonstrable understanding of UK politics and parliament.
- Drive, self-starter mentality, and growth mindset.
- Influencing skills to support senior stakeholders and demonstrate gravitas.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex briefs and move them forward.
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
