About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Capital Projects Lead to join our Estates & Facilities department at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality capital projects that meet the needs of our patients and staff.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Capital Programme Delivery function, ensuring the application of a standardised approach to project management. This includes effective communication of project plans, deliverables, and resource requirements between Capital Programme teams and clinical stakeholders.

  • Establish robust programmes and project management arrangements, mapping a systematic and clear approach for delivery.
  • Work with system partners and contractors to agree roles, responsibilities, and ensure the capital programme is actively managed.
  • Identify risks and develop credible mitigations, agreeing them with the most appropriate leads.
  • Practice benefits realisation, developing key performance indicators for each programme and assessing them as part of the monitoring framework.

In addition, the post holder will be responsible for managing the Capital Programme PMO, ensuring the application of best practice and innovative ways in project management and improvement science.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in delivering complex projects from concept to delivery, preferably in the NHS Estates and Facilities sector. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent status, ideally Chartered engineer/surveyor or equivalent.
  • Experience of contract procurement and management, capital contract management, and successful delivery of complex projects.
  • Significant experience of delivering NHS Estates and Facilities services providing Value for Money (VFM) and performing in the upper quartile against peer benchmarking.
What We Offer

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust offers a competitive salary range, estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
