Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manual Handling Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent, part-time role with 30 hours per week, over 4 days.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide expert advice and guidance on manual handling and ergonomics across the trust, leading a training programme for department risk assessors. As a subject matter expert, they will ensure the effectiveness of the trust's arrangements for promoting safe handling and work activities.

Main Duties
  • Provide concise, timely, and impartial advice and support to managers and staff to ensure effective manual handling practices.
  • Lead the trust towards compliance with relevant legislation, including Manual Handling Operations Regulations.
  • Design, deliver, implement, and evaluate the manual handling risk assessment training programme across the trust.
Requirements
  • Registered nurse or allied health professional (physiotherapist/occupational therapist).
  • Accredited key trainers programme.
  • Recognised qualification in teaching or training and development.
  • Recognised moving and handling or ergonomics qualification (postgraduate level).

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £46,148-£52,809 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and annual leave entitlement.
