Job Title: Physical Security Specialist
Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Security Specialist to provide expert advisory services, technical designs, cost estimates, and construction administration for Electronic Security systems.


Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Develop detailed designs, specifications, budgets, and equipment schedules aligned with RIBA stages.
  • Security Technology Requirements: Define and document security technology requirements, ensuring optimal system configuration for end users.
  • Surveillance Camera Coverage: Establish surveillance camera coverage needs, identifying camera locations and field of view.
  • Security Technology Spatial Requirements: Manage security technology spatial requirements, power needs, and cable routing for each system.
  • Operational and Maintenance Practices: Provide guidance on operational, support, and maintenance practices, and recommend design improvements.
  • Layout Drawings: Prepare layout drawings, including cable routing and equipment positioning.
  • Project Meetings: Attend project and client meetings, delivering presentations and addressing project specifics.
  • Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Produce budgets and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for hardware, system implementation, and maintenance.
  • Technical Specifications: Draft and review technical specifications, ensuring adherence to project Scope of Works.
  • Commissioning Management: Lead commissioning management, witness testing, snagging, and project reporting.
  • Design Documentation: Conduct design documentation preparation, including schematics and technical drawings.
  • Compliance and Site Visits: Oversee design integrity throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Conduct site visits and inspections within the UK and EMEA region, collaborating with client and partner teams.

Requirements

  • Physical Security Design Experience: Solid experience in Physical Security System design, ideally within electronic security systems.
  • Security Knowledge: Knowledge of Counter Terrorism and Secure by Design practices, and CPTED principles.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in security design tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Visio) and familiarity with CCTV bandwidth/storage calculators.
  • IT and Networking: Comprehensive knowledge of IT and networking as they relate to Physical Security Systems.
  • Architectural Plans: Familiarity with architectural plans and schematics, including power, cooling, and containment systems.
  • Certifications: ASIS PSP/CPP or CSMP certification (preferred); degree-level qualification in a relevant field is advantageous.
  • Software Skills: High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Visio.
