Research Grants Officer Opportunity

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Research Grants Officer to join our client's team in London. As a key member of the research team, you will play a crucial role in strengthening the grants management process and administration of the research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement funding schemes, including coordination with research stakeholders and preparation of application forms and guidance documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for applicant enquiries throughout the assessment process, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Collaborate with the Research Grants Manager to select and contact peer reviewers, ensuring transparent assessment processes are followed.
  • Process and record grant payments, assist with budget forecasts, and issue and collect interim reports from grant holders.
  • Support the Research Grants Manager in implementing best practice procedures and assisting with wider funding policy issues associated with governance.
Requirements:
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and research management software such as Flexi Grant.
  • Experience in grants management, pre- and post-grant administration, or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent multitasking, organisational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior academics and stakeholders.
