Global Markets Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled lawyer to join our in-house team providing legal coverage to BlackRock Global Markets (BGM). The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and responding to legal issues and questions arising from the trading and market-facing activity of BlackRock funds and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Support investment teams and traders in connection with OTC derivatives trading, digital/crypto asset transactions, and business initiatives;
- Develop BlackRock standard-form trading documentation;
- Draft, review, and negotiate technical and legally complex OTC derivative instruments and related documentation;
- Analyse and implement trading-related regulations and perform cross-border applicability analysis;
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Solicitor/lawyer qualified in England and Wales or Scotland;
- 2-6 years of post-qualification experience as a lawyer with a law firm or in-house at a financial services company;
- Experience with industry-standard trading agreements and related documentation;
- Ability to analyse and apply trading-related rules and regulations across dealers and funds in multiple jurisdictions;
- Strong understanding of current regulatory frameworks affecting trading and investments;
- Excellent organisational, negotiating, and interpersonal skills;
- Solutions-oriented, strategic thinker, able to understand business needs and partner with the business and control functions;
- Commercial outlook, motivated, personable, and with attention to detail;
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation in verbal and written form;
- Takes ownership of problems/requirements and ensures they are resolved to meet objectives without taking shortcuts that could compromise quality.
