About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and multi-skilled Clinical Team Leader to join the South Devon & Torbay Mental Health Centre at Torbay Hospital.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward Manager in setting up standards, promoting change, and developing nursing practice, supervision, and audit.
  • Ensure the delivery of high standards of nursing care to all service users, in accordance with evidence-based professional practice and trust policies.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Liaise with local Community Mental Health Services to facilitate care pathways.
  • Develop expertise in the management of complex cases.
  • Act as shift coordinator.
  • Participate in training and development of junior staff within the clinical environment.
  • Monitor clinical work.
  • Produce staffing rotas, taking into consideration budgetary requirements, skill/gender grade mix to meet clinical need.
  • Ensure that robust, up to date risk assessments are carried out by the relevant staff.
  • Promote good practice in the management of acutely disturbed clients.
  • Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct, Government and Trust policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safeguarding adults and children to level 3 as set out in Safeguarding adults and children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.
