Geotechnical Design Team Lead

COWI A/S is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Design Team Lead to join our growing Geotechnical Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the delivery of geotechnical design projects, ensuring a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of geotechnical design projects to time and budget.
  • Ensure a high standard of technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and technicians, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through project work, identifying and realizing potential business opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Achieved Chartership status with CGeol or CEng (or equivalent).
  • MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Significant experience in the rail, tunnelling, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience working in a railway design and build environment.
  • Evidence of undertaking previous CRE(Discipline) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standard.
  • Evidence of participating in IDCs or joint IDC/IDRs as a discipline specialist.
  • Experience in both on-site and design office environments.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes.
  • Sound understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the Designer's requirements.
  • Broad capability in geotechnical design – earthworks, retaining structures, foundations.
  • Sound understanding of the requirements regarding the risk assessment process.
  • Good team leadership skills with the ability to support, mentor, and develop less experienced engineers.
