About this role

We are seeking a seasoned UX Design Director to join our team at BlackRock. As a key member of our UX Design team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of digital experiences for our clients.

About the Aladdin UX Design Team

The Aladdin UX Design team is responsible for researching and designing the user experience for the Aladdin investment and risk analytics platform. We take a human-centered design approach, designing software that meets the needs of our users.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and the Aladdin business to foster a UX-centric environment and process.
  • Translate Business goals, Product Vision, and UX Strategy into actionable design briefs for UX.
  • Drive the UX strategy for your product vertical through design thinking, design sprints, workshops, and presentations.
  • Leverage participatory and iterative design techniques, including heuristic evaluations, observational studies, user interviews, and usability testing.
  • Focus on data-driven decisions by leveraging data metrics, insights, and qualitative research.
  • Be a positive representative and evangelist for user-centered design.
  • BFA or higher degree in HCI/User Experience Design/Design or a related field.
  • Outstanding portfolio demonstrating deep UX thinking and complex problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive grasp of user-centric design methodologies, including user research, usability testing, interaction design, and design systems.
  • Ability to communicate well to both peers and executive levels.
  • Experience leading discovery phases, facilitating discussions with stakeholders, and working within lean/agile product development models.
