Ocean Export Operator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ocean Export Operator to join our team at Silver Arrow Recruitment. As an Ocean Export Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of freight from our warehouse to our clients' destinations around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to provide exceptional customer service
  • Ensure all freight is moved on time and in accordance with relevant regulations and documentation
  • Arrange for the transportation of freight with shipping lines and other logistics providers
  • Verify and process all freight invoices and documentation prior to dispatch
  • Ensure all relevant documents are readily available as required
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to customer requests and queries
  • Communicate effectively with overseas agents, customers, and suppliers
  • Utilize customer ERP and SAP systems as necessary
  • Take ownership of your own training and development to continuously improve and develop your skills
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in freight forwarding, including working for an independent company
  • Experience with hazardous goods is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while remaining calm under pressure
  • Capacity to instruct a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, and hauliers
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills, with attention to detail and a high sense of urgency
  • Positive attitude and good problem-solving skills, with a willingness to apply lessons learned
  • Commercial awareness and ability to grow repeat business and develop new opportunities
  • Drive to succeed and contribute to the business
