Employment Solicitor Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor with 2+ years of post-qualification experience to join our Shared Legal Service in Cambridgeshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to achieve a genuine work-life balance while working on challenging and interesting cases.

The role offers a salary of £45,625 (based on a salary range of £43,000 - £56,750) and an excellent benefits package.

As an Employment Lawyer, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters.
  • Manage and advise on a varied caseload of complex matters with minimal supervision.
  • Act as a source of legal advice and support to client Councils' Committees and Directorates.
  • Attend courts and tribunals, undertaking advocacy and representing clients in negotiations.
  • Work closely with Elected Members and Directorate teams to provide strategic support.
  • Contribute to the development, training or mentoring of colleagues.

You must have the ability to work independently, anticipate challenges, and deal with them proactively.

You must be flexible to travel to other office locations when necessary.

It is essential to be committed to these areas of law and demonstrate the importance of health and safety, equal opportunities, and other people's needs.

The ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated, and work to deadlines is imperative.

Previous employment local authority experience is highly desirable.

You must be comfortable undertaking some advocacy.
