Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group PLC. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of residential development schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Commercial Manager in the commercial delivery of residential development schemes.
  • Support the Surveying department with cost management for development and contracting projects from procurement to completion.
  • Assist with the compilation of tender packages for sub-contract trades and receive tenders for analysis.
  • Liaise with the Build Department on sub-contractors' performance and compliance with order conditions.
  • Provide forecast and site budget information to meet business reporting requirements.
  • Control and report post-contract cost movements.
  • Process invoices and applications for payments in accordance with Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Settle variation invoices and applications for payment.
  • Assist with the certifying of retention releases on completion of projects.
  • Prepare and agree sub-contract final accounts.
Requirements:
  • HNC in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within the Construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Excellent IT, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical ability.
  • Ability to assess and analyze information.
  • Good understanding of budget management.
  • Negotiating and networking skills.
  • Familiar with construction contracts, not limited to standard forms.
Desirable:
  • HND or Degree in Construction.
  • Housebuilding experience.
  • Different methods of construction, i.e., Timber Frame, Traditional Masonry, etc.
  • COINS software experience.
