We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering and Operations to join our client, a reputable pharmaceutical company. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction to the engineering team, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Team Management: Recruit, develop, and mentor engineering staff to ensure a high-performing team.
- Engineering Operations: Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs teams to support manufacturing operations and process improvements.

- Performance Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the engineering department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support business objectives.
- Capital Expenditure: Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and make recommendations for investment in new equipment, technology upgrades, or facility expansions.
- Supplier Management: Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
**Requirements**
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, FDA, MHRA).
- Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies used in engineering/manufacturing.
- Education: Either a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant practical work expertise in a similar position.
