Supporting Education for Children with Needs

Vision for Education is a leading provider of education recruitment services, and we are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in Sheffield. In this full-time position, you will work in a Primary Special School catering to children aged 4 to 11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Special Educational Needs.

You will be responsible for supporting teachers in delivering a child-centred approach to education, focusing on the progress of pupils with various Special Educational Needs. Experience working with young people, particularly those with Autism, is crucial for this role.

About the Job:

This is a temporary position, and we offer flexible start dates. You will work closely with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote their social, emotional, and academic growth, maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and attendance, and collaborating with the teaching staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in developing and implementing educational programs
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to the development of a supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • At least 6 months' experience working with children and young people, particularly those with Autism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team

Salary: £16,960 per annum (£416.00 per week)
