Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Haematology Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our haematology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with blood disorders, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Lead and manage clinical teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of haematology services, including service improvement and quality assurance.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
  • Supervise and train junior medical staff, ensuring their development and growth.
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • GMC registration.
  • Current BLS qualification.
  • Fully accredited for Higher Specialist Training or eligible for inclusion on the specialist register within 6 months.
  • MRCP/MRCS or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
  • Membership of relevant specialist societies or associations.
  • Higher degree, such as MSc or MD.
Experience
  • Fully trained in clinical haematology.
  • Excellent clinical skills and experience in managing blood disorders.
  • Ability to apply sound clinical judgment and critical thinking.
Management
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and lead clinical teams.
  • Experience of leading teams and awareness of leadership styles.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize clinical workload.
Communication Skills
  • Demonstrable skills in writing and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
